Meet your Crisp County Middle School Counselor
Janice Tribue Burnette taught middle school (EBD Special Education Teacher) for
3 years at Ft. Valley Middle in Peach County, GA. She later became a Professional
School Counselor with 10 years of experience on the middle school level and 6 years
on the high school level. In recent years, she has been a Parent Facilitator for the
Dougherty County School System. This is her 19th year as a certified professional
Ms. Burnette attended Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida and Florida
A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Social Work.
She later completed the Masters of Education program in Guidance and Counseling
from Florida A& M University. She is divorced with one adult daughter, Jeaunice.
What she enjoys most about her job is being able to build great relationships with her
students and helping guide them in developing a clearer focus or sense of direction.
Her main focus is to ensure that today's students are productive and successful in
everything they seek out to achieve. Whether it is academic achievement, personal/
social development, or career development, her hope is that every student is well
prepared for the ventures that life will have in store for them.
My mission Statement:
To provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the
academic, career, and personal/social development of all the Crisp County Middle
students through advocating and use of the American School Counselors Association
