Meet your Crisp County Middle School Counselor

Janice Tribue Burnette taught middle school (EBD Special Education Teacher) for

3 years at Ft. Valley Middle in Peach County, GA. She later became a Professional

School Counselor with 10 years of experience on the middle school level and 6 years

on the high school level. In recent years, she has been a Parent Facilitator for the

Dougherty County School System. This is her 19th year as a certified professional

educator.

Ms. Burnette attended Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida and Florida

A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Social Work.

She later completed the Masters of Education program in Guidance and Counseling

from Florida A& M University. She is divorced with one adult daughter, Jeaunice.

What she enjoys most about her job is being able to build great relationships with her

students and helping guide them in developing a clearer focus or sense of direction.

Her main focus is to ensure that today's students are productive and successful in

everything they seek out to achieve. Whether it is academic achievement, personal/

social development, or career development, her hope is that every student is well

prepared for the ventures that life will have in store for them.

My mission Statement:

To provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the

academic, career, and personal/social development of all the Crisp County Middle

students through advocating and use of the American School Counselors Association

(ASCA) standards.
